Hi, I’m Wendee.

I have often been told that I bring a warm, authentic, and personable style to my work, and creating a space where people feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely supported is very important to me.

I draw on more than 25 years of experience as an educator working with children, youth, and adults, along with 12 years of clinical counselling experience, which allows me to offer both a broad perspective and practical, real-life tools to help people move toward their counselling goals.

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Counselling Psychology, and I am both a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

I work with children, youth, adults, couples, and families facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting stress, behavioural concerns, and life transitions.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)/DBT, EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed practice, and practical skill-building strategies that clients can use in everyday life.

When working with children and youth, I often incorporate art, play, and creative interventions to support emotional regulation, confidence, and communication. With parents and families, I provide practical strategies to improve connection, behaviour management, and family communication. In couples counselling, I help partners better understand patterns, strengthen communication, and build healthier emotional connection.

My goal is to help people feel supported, empowered, and equipped with meaningful tools that create lasting positive change.

Hi, I’m Intisar. I have often been told that I bring a calm, genuine, and grounded presence to my work, and creating a space where people feel truly seen, respected, and safe to open up is at the heart of everything I do.

Before transitioning into psychotherapy, I spent over a decade practicing as a Family Physician after completing my medical degree from my home country. That chapter of my life gave me something I carry into every session a deep, first-hand understanding of how closely physical health, emotional well-being, and life circumstances are woven together. It’s a perspective that continues to shape how I see and support the people I work with.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I work with adults, older adults, and families navigating all kinds of challenges anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, parenting stress, major life transitions, cultural adjustment, and more. I am a compassionate and client-centred counsellor with experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families through emotional, behavioural, relational, and developmental challenges.

My background includes counselling practicum experience, crisis support, behavioural intervention, tutoring, early childhood education, and volunteer work in childfocused settings. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Calgary, where I graduated with distinction, and I completed my Master of Counselling Psychology through City University of Canada.

Through my training, I have provided brief counselling using trauma-informed approaches and supported individuals facing emotional, relational, and systemic challenges.

My experience has allowed me to work with diverse populations, including children, youth, adults, newcomers, Indigenous communities, and individuals navigating neurodiversity, emotional regulation difficulties, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, family stress, and behavioural challenges.

In my work at Monarch House, I have supported clients through a client-centered and neuro-affirming lens in both individual and group settings by implementing evidence-based behavioural strategies, adapting to changing needs, and creating a safe and engaging environment.

I am drawn to this work because I believe that healing begins with connection, trust, and feeling truly understood. I have seen how meaningful it can be when children, youth, and families are met with patience instead of judgment, and with curiosity instead of assumptions.

My approach is warm, client-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relational. I understand that behaviour is often a form of communication, especially for children and youth, and I try to create a space where clients feel safe enough to explore what they are feeling and what they may need. Depending on each client’s needs, I may draw from CBT, solution-focused strategies, emotional regulation tools, attachment-based ideas, play-based approaches, and creative activities. My goal is to help individuals and families better understand their strengths and challenges and to move forward with the clarity and confidence they deserve.
